BIOFILCOM is a private technology development and manufacturing company originated in Ghana. Fifteen years back, K. A. Anno Engineering Ltd has researched and developed the Biofil Digester, a unique, environment-friendly system which treats organic waste. The system operates on the principle of aerobic decomposition; creating a living filter where natural organisms thrive in order to break down solid waste into useful end products. The Biofil Digester is the main component of the K. A. Anno Engineering's Biofil Toilet system - an effective and affordable system for the management of liquid and solid fecal waste. The innovative Biofil Toilet System is especially useful in the world where over 70% of households lack adequate toilet facilities; and inadequate solutions for the disposal of fecal matter have resulted in pollution of water bodies and air with unacceptable levels of fecal matter. The Biofil Toilet Technology successfully introduced in Bangladesh in 2014 through a pilot project in Dhaka.
